Sea turtles are important animals in our ecosystem and it is important to keep them safe and healthy. Join Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) staff as we guide children through the process of rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing an injured sea turtles—just like we do at the Sea Turtle Hospital at LMC!
This program is for all ages and will include art making.

Have you heard about the rainmaking bacteria? They live on plants and soil, windswept to the clouds where they make ice to create rain and snow. Without them, it wouldn't rain or snow!
Come join us for a family-friendly time as we read the new children's book called "I Wonder What it's Like to Be a Raindrop" with the books author (Keith Bell) and illustrator (Brent Bludworth). Thereafter, we will create beautiful 'raindrop sun catchers' and may even incorporate the newly created raindrops in a family dance. This interactive and celebratory event is for all ages to attend.

Processional Arts Workshop

The Norton Museum of Art is undergoing a magnificent renovation! You're invited to help celebrate the reopening by aiding Norton staff in making a life-size puppet at a Processional Arts Workshop (PAW)! The giant puppets will be carried in a festive procession around the Museum preceding the reopening. At the workshop, you'll choose your favorite digitized work of art from the Norton Collection then "collage" it into a pattern, texture, or composition for a section of one of the gigantic puppets.
Of course you're also invited to accompany the puppets during the processional march celebrating the Norton's grand opening on February 9, 2019. This workshop is geared to families with children ages 6 and older. For more information about the workshop and procession, visit norton.org
Food as Art

Did you know that food can make great art too? Join Chelsea Odum from Resource Depot for a printmaking day. During your session, we will experiment with how a variety of fruits and vegetables makes different shapes or textures when inked and printed. We will also print with some other fun textured stuffed from Resource Depots plethora of donations. This activity can be done with all ages. Participants will have the chance to print items and could transform them using collage into greeting cards or just lovely works of arts.

Join Maryann Arnita Payne and MAP Dance for a creative and friendly family experience. In this two-part workshop participants will be introduced to the basic principles of dance and painting through explorations in shape, space and rhythm. Part 1 of the workshop will include a short performance by Ms. Payne with the opportunity to move and dance with her to a variety of music. Part 2 will incorporate movement and music with gestures and watercolor painting. No previous experience in dance or art is required. All ages are welcome.

He's back! Join one of Lake Worth's most in-demand arts educators, Jose Mendez (a.k.a. R.Dot), and create an original Mexican sugar skull. Sugar skulls, known in Spanish as 'calaverita,' is traditionally made of sugar or clay and placed on the altars of a deceased loved one for Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) or given to children as treats.
Participants will use spray paint with a variety of techniques to create an original sugar skull on canvas. *Supplies are limited; advance registration is required.

Graffiti, the art of writing or drawing on walls in public view, has existed since ancient times. Palm Beach County has recently experienced a surge in public art through an incredible collection of murals that can be viewed throughout our communities. In this workshop participants will use handmade stencils, sharpies and spray paint to create original graffiti art on canvas. Families will learn various spray painting techniques with a variety of colors so each piece is unique and one of a kind.
